“Hummus is my best friend. And I think maybe my first lover
…Although I’m not sure…”
DRIP is a partly autobiographical one-woman cabaret about youth, death and best friends. Set in a children’s ward, and re-telling the epic romance of a young girl with cancer and her hospital drip Hummus, DRIP is a darkly humourous, tongue-in-cheek meditation on childhood naivety and an over-active imagination.
With new music by Matt Regan, and directed by Debbie Hannan, DRIP uses a mixture of live music, object manipulation, clowning and dance. It was originally created for the National Theatre of Scotland’s 5 Minute Theatre event, and was recently performed as a works-in-development for Scratch Night at The Arches, where it received very positive feedback. DRIP will continue to be developed over the next year.
